This is because of the D-Ring being pull-able to quickly get the dog's attention when necessary, without the problems inherent in a choke collar. Our Basic line of Quick Release Martingale Collars features one 'Tough as Nails' nickle plated metal D-Ring and two metal Slides, as well as a strong, and durable, Plastic Side Release Buckle and a plastic Keeper. Match that with with your choice of nylon colors and you have a collar that is as beautiful as it is tough.
